Jimmie Johnson will have Carvana on board his No. 84 LEGACY Motor Club Chevrolet Camaro for the 2023 Daytona 500, as the seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion attempts to qualify for his 20th Daytona 500.

As first mentioned during Wednesday’s announcement of a Petty GMS rebrand on the TODAY Show, Carvana will partner with Jimmie Johnson and LEGACY Motor Club to sponsor the seven-time NASCAR Cup Series champion in the 2023 Daytona 500.

Johnson, who will make his first start at NASCAR’s top level since leaving the series to pursue a tenure in the NTT IndyCar Series, will bring his partner from IndyCar to LEGACY Motor Car, piloting the No. 84 Chevrolet Camaro.

Carvana officially announced the news, while also revealing the paint scheme, on Thursday:

The 2023 edition of “The Great American Race” will mark the 20th time that Johnson, a native of El Cajon, California, will attempt the NASCAR Cup Series’ most prestigious race.

However, to ensure he sees the green flag on February 19, he’ll need to qualify for the event – either through single-car qualifying or the Bluegreen Vacation Duels – as he will be piloting a part-time entry, which isn’t guaranteed a spot into the event.

Additional announcements regarding Johnson’s part-time schedule in the NASCAR Cup Series for 2023, as well as any crew chief and personnel assignments, will be announced at a later date.
