Ty Majeski had a breakout season in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2022, as he scored his first two career wins in the series and made it into the NCWTS Championship 4.

After falling shy of hoisting the 2022 Truck Series championship, Majeski will get back to the bread and butter that put him on the map — super late models.

Saturday night, $30,000 will be up for grabs in the Bill Bigley Sr. Memorial 128 at 4-17 Southern Speedway in Punta Gorda, Florida. And Majeski, 28, was the fastest of the 36 cars that took time in the session.

On his fast lap, Majeski’s No. 91 car circled around the 3/8-mile racetrack in 14.628 seconds, which equates to 92.289 miles per hour. The lap was 0.021 seconds faster than Michael Goddard, who finished the session in the runner-up spot in his No. 37 machine.

Nick Neri, Anthony Sergi, and Albert Francis rounded out the top-five fastest in the session.

Majeski is not the only NASCAR name on the entry list.

Derek Kraus, who competed against Majeski in the Truck Series this season, was seventh-fastest in practice and he will pilot the No. 9 entry on Saturday night. Kraus clocked in at 0.120 seconds behind Majeski’s fast lap.

Chad Chastain, the younger brother of NASCAR Cup Series championship 4 contender Ross Chastain, is also in the field for Saturday night’s prestigious race.

Chastain, who ran three NASCAR Camping World Truck Series events for Niece Motorsports in 2022, was 21st-fastest on the scoring sheet in practice and he trailed Majeski by 0.315 seconds.

Qualifying for Saturday night’s race will begin at 5:30 PM ET. Qualifying will be followed by a race between the cars that failed to make it to the Main Event and the Main Event will go live after the non-qualifier race is completed.

The race will be carried on RacingAmerica.tv and will be available at no extra charge for Racing America Subscribers.
