Austin Dillon had an insane run on an overtime restart on fresh tires. He went from sixth place to a four-wide battle for the lead. However, he went crashing and six others were involved.

The 2022 Coca-Cola 600 will go down as one of the most insane races in NASCAR Cup Series history. After an absolutely wild race, which featured 17 cautions earlier in the event, it was the 18th and final caution that may have been one of the wildest.

On new tires, on an overtime restart, Austin Dillon had fresh tires and stormed from restarting sixth to have a chance at taking the lead in a frantic four-wide battle heading into the front stretch dog-leg.

Dillon would make contact with a couple of cars and would go spinning into the outside wall and would bounce back across the track into the path of the field. In all, seven cars were swept up in the crash.

Here is video of the crash that ended the day for Austin Dillon and several others:

The seven drivers involved in this melee were: Ross Chastain, Dillon, Kyle Larson, Martin Truex Jr., Joey Logano, Cole Custer and Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
