Video: VeeKay Hit by DeFrancesco After Shove into the Grass by Ilott

There were multiple spins to open up the first quarter of a wet GMR Grand Prix at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Heading into turn two on lap 21, Callum Ilott was sitting underneath last year’s Indy GP winner, Rinus VeeKay. The rookie, Ilott, shoved VeeKay out into the grass and went for a spin once making it back on the track.

Veekay was mid-spin when another rookie, Devlin DeFrancesco made contact hitting the right rear of the No. 21 Ed Carpenter Racing Chevrolet. The crew was able to repair the damage and VeeKay is back on the track, two laps down in 24th.

DeFrancesco is in 25th, also two laps down after damage repairs.
