Austin Dillon will have a new face atop the pit box leading his No. 3 Richard Childress Racing team during the AdventHealth 400 at Kansas Speedway, as his full-time crew chief Justin Alexander will be out for the weekend due to COVID protocols.

A Richard Childress Racing representative confirmed to TobyChristie.com that Jim Pohlman will serve as Dillon’s crew chief this weekend.

Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports had the first report of Alexander being out this weekend for COVID protocols.

Dillon enters this weekend’s event 14th in the NASCAR Cup Series championship standings. Dillon has scored three top-three finishes this season, including two runner-up efforts.

The 32-year old driver has finished 11th-or-better in his last three starts at the 1.5-mile oval in Kansas.
