Sheldon Creed, driving the No. 20 for Young’s Motorsports, will start on the pole position for Saturday’s XPEL 225 at Circuit of The Americas, after an astounding lap in the second round of qualifying.

The Alpine, California-native posted a lap time of 134.924 seconds (90.985 mph) to claim the first career pole position for not only himself but for Young’s Motorsports, besting the field by nearly three-tenths of a second.

Zane Smith – driving the truck that captured the inaugural victory in the NCWTS at COTA — will start alongside Creed on the front row, as the team looks to go back-to-back at the 3.41-mile road course.

Alex Bowman, Parker Kligerman, and Kyle Busch – three of the drivers running double-duty this weekend at Circuit of The Americas — rounded out the top-five in the session.

Carson Hocevar, Stewart Friesen, Christian Eckes, Taylor Gray, and Tyler Ankrum will start sixth through tenth, after advancing into the second round of qualifying from their respective groups.

John Atwell (Atwell Racing), Samuel Lecomte (G2G Racing), and Tyler Hill (Hill Motorsports) were the three vehicles that failed to qualify for the event.

Among those drivers taking owner point provisionals were fan-favorite Brad Perez, who will make his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut in Saturday’s event.
