An aggressive restart following a brief caution for rain in Sunday’s Firekeepers Casino 400 resulted in a multi-car crash, and egos bruised.

Tyler Reddick made a blinding move into Turn 3 underneath Joey Logano with 14 laps to go, with Car No. 8 getting loose in the process.

Reddick slipped up the track in front of Logano, causing the Team Penske driver to back out of the throttle.

An oncoming Martin Truex Jr. pushed the No. 22 around, causing Logano to go into traffic. Christopher Bell turned down to avoid a spinning No. 22 Ford, but got clipped by Michael McDowell.

Josh Berry, subbing for Corey LaJoie thanks to COVID-19 protocols, also spun during the wreck, along with Ryan Newman.

The Team Penske driver ended up with significant damage to the right front wheel housing, with the tire going at a completely different angle down the front stretch.

Thanks to the Damaged Vehicle Policy, Logano was unable to get his car fixed and was forced to withdraw from Sunday’s race.

It marks the fourth DNF for Logano in 2021.
