The No. 54 Supra will continue to be a revolving door of drivers in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, and the team announced on Wednesday the latest addition.

Ty Dillon, who is joining Gaunt Brothers Racing for the 2021 Daytona 500, will join fellow Toyota team Joe Gibbs Racing for a handful of races in the Xfinity Series starting with the season opener at Daytona.

“I am so thankful and excited for the opportunity to drive for Joe Gibbs Racing and Toyota,” Dillon said in a media release. “They have been on top of the sport for a long time and this is a great opportunity for me to go prove that I am a winner and show what I know I can do in a race car.”

Dillon will take the wheel of the No. 54 Supra at the season opener at Daytona, Homestead, Las Vegas in March, and Talladega in April.

In addition to Dillon, other drivers will take the wheel of the No. 54 entry including Kyle Busch, Martin Truex Jr., Denny Hamlin, and Ty Gibbs.

Kyle Busch will drive the No. 54 Supra at Atlanta Motor Speedway in March, Circuit of the Americas in May, Texas in June, Nashville, and Road America in July. Two-time Xfinity Series champion Truex Jr. will return to the series at Atlanta on July 10. Hamlin will take his typical Darlington weekend, and Ty Gibbs will participate in ‘select’ races.

“Ty Dillon is going to be a great addition to our Xfinity lineup,” said Steve de Souza, Executive Vice President of Xfinity Series and Development for Joe Gibbs Racing. “Ty has a lot of experience across the board and that will definitely be an asset to our whole group as we get going this season.”

Sponsorship and the remaining schedule of the No. 54 entry will be confirmed at a later date.

The 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series season will go green on Saturday, February 13th at 5:00 PM EST on Fox Sports 1.
