Inspection Complete: Kevin Harvick Officially Wins Southern 500 at Darlington

Post-race technical inspection following Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway has been completed.

Kevin Harvick’s race-winning No. 4 Ford Mustang has passed. As a result, NASCAR has declared him the official winner of the race.

The No. 24 car of William Byron and No. 4 car of Harvick had one loose lug nut which will result in a monetary fine for their crew chiefs.

Kyle Busch’s No. 18 car and Clint Bowyer’s No. 14 car had two unsecured lug nuts, which will result in a one-race suspension and monetary fine for their crew chiefs.

No other issues were discovered in post-race inspection. As such, all results and standings are considered official.
