Daniel Suarez and Reed Sorenson will drop to the rear before Sunday’s Consumer Energy 400 at Michigan International Speedway after both of their cars failed pre-race inspection twice.

Suarez was set to roll from the grid in 24th, while Sorenson was slated to start from the 30th position in his No. 74 Fake Steak car.

Suarez and Sorenson will join Chris Buescher (scheduled to start 1st), Tyler Reddick (3rd), Aric Almirola (5th), Ryan Preece (25th), Ryan Newman (28th), Michael McDowell (28th), Austin Dillon (31st), Cole Custer (34th) and John Hunter Nemechek (36th), Brennan Poole (37th) and Josh Bilicki (40th) on the pace laps of Sunday’s race.

Preece also failed pre-race inspection multiple times, but he was already going to the rear of the field as he went to a backup car after Saturday’s race.

In all, 13 drivers will drop to the rear before Sunday’s race, but will all be officially scored from their original starting spots for fantasy game purposes.
