Chase Elliott is without his car chief Matt Barndt and the No. 9 Hendrick Motorsports team will be docked 15-minutes of practice time next weekend at Auto Club Speedway as a result of failing inspection twice on Saturday at LVMS.

According to FoxSports’ Bob Pockrass, the issue was a spot on the right door of Elliott’s car.

Luckily, the No. 9 car passed on its third inspection attempt. Had it not, Elliott would have had to start Sunday’s race from the rear of the field.
