While there was hope, originally, that long-time NASCAR Cup Series competitor Buddy Arrington could return home last weekend following heart surgery after a double-heart attack, unfortunately he has run into some issues that will keep him in recovery for a little bit longer.

According to a new update from Eddie Dickerson, which was shared to Twitter by Johnny Dickson, Arrington is doing great, but has been suffering from stomach issues, which stemmed from an acid reflux condition. Apparently, the stomach problems have increased since Arrington was introduced to his new medicine post-surgery.

Arrington will go through rehab and will hopefully continue to improve.

The 81-year old Virginia native competed in 560 NASCAR Cup Series races over a 25-year career. Arrington’s career-best finish was third, which he achieved twice.

We will keep an eye on updates on Arrington’s condition.
