Well, this is a little embarrassing…
At the beginning of opening NASCAR Cup Series practice at Phoenix Raceway on Friday, numerous drivers had issues trying to find their way from the garage area out onto the race track.
Among the drivers who got turned around while looking for the correct gate that led out to the racetrack were Martin Truex Jr. and AJ Allmendinger, who had to flip around.

Once drivers found the 1-mile Phoenix Raceway, Kyle Larson led the way in Friday’s bonus 50-minute practice session, which was added for drivers and teams to acclimate themselves to the new short track aerodynamic package, which is expected to reduce downforce by roughly 30 to 40%.
