Video: Sammy Smith Turns Sam Mayer to Trigger Eight-Car Crash at Phoenix

Sam Mayer and Sammy Smith had a disagreement over real estate in the final stage of Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Phoenix, and it triggered an eight-car melee.

Unfortunately, there was a massive eight-car pileup on lap 102 of Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship Race at Phoenix Raceway. Fortunately, none of the four Championship 4 contenders were involved.

JR Motorsports’ Sam Mayer and Joe Gibbs Racing’s Sammy Smith got into a heated battle for position, and by the time the duo reached Turn 4 on lap 102, they were making plenty of contact. The final nudge was hard enough to send Mayer spinning.

Here is video of the big crash:

The full list of drivers involved in this one were Sam Mayer, Sammy Smith, Riley Herbst, Anthony Alfredo, Stefan Parsons, Ryan Sieg, Kyle Weatherman and Kaz Grala.
