Christopher Bell was nearly flawless in the opening round of the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs as he scored more points during the three-race stretch than any other driver. However, the Round of 12 has not been so kind to the 27-year-old driver.
Following a DNF due to a crash at Texas, Bell went for a spin entering pit road at lap 99 in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series YellaWood 500 at Talladega.

Somehow, Bell was able to avoid the inside retaining wall on pit road. However, due to the spin, Bell would need four new tires, which tacked on extra time to his pit stop.
To add insult to injury, Bell was busted for speeding on the pit sequence as well. The penalty for speeding on pit road led to Bell losing a lap to the leaders.
Fortunately for Bell, he was able to regain his lost lap by way of the free pass when Stage 2 ended at lap 120. He’ll look to shake off the spin and rally for a good finish.
