Benjamin Pedersen went fastest in the only practice session of the weekend for Indy Lights at World Wide Technology Raceway.

The 22-year-old Danish-born American put down a total of 34 laps in the No. 24 Global Racing Group with HMD Motorsports machine, with a session-best coming at 160.662 mph (28.0091s) around the 1.25-mile oval.

Championship leader Linus Lundqvist, piloting the No. 26 HMD Motorsports with Dale Coyne Racing entry, ended up second by a narrow 0.0456s.

Christian Rasmussen was third, followed by James Roe in fourth and Daniel Frost in fifth.

Hunter McElrea put his No. 27 Andretti Autosport Machine sixth, ahead of teammate Matthew Brabham in seventh.

Jacob Abel came across eighth-quickest, with Christian Bogle and Sting Ray Robb finishing ninth and 10th, respectively.

The 50-minute session featured two cautions, with the first being for a track inspection. However, the second, which came at the end, was brought out after the No. 11 Dale Coyne Racing with HMD Motorsports machine of Roe spun and made contact with the SAFER Barrier in Turn 2. He was able to climb out of the car without the assistance of the AMR IndyCar Safety Team.
