Video: Sam Mayer Hooked by Jeffrey Earnhardt, Slams Outside Wall at Atlanta

Sam Mayer is out of Saturday’s Alsco Uniforms 250 at Atlanta Motor Speedway, after contact from Jeffrey Earnhardt sent the No. 1 Chevrolet into the outside wall hard.

Sam Mayer is the fifth driver to visit the Atlanta Motor Speedway garage area during Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Alsco Uniforms 250, after being involved in a single-car accident inside the final 50 laps of the event.

The accident happened as the JR Motorsports driver attempted to get in line on the outside, making contact with Jeffrey Earnhardt’s No. 26 ForeverLawn GR Supra, which then hooked Mayer into the outside wall hard.

Mayer would exit the car under his own power and visit the infield care center, where he was deemed to be alright, but will record a 34th-place finish at the 1.5-mile facility.
