Molson Coors Continuing Partnership with Team Penske, Keystone Light Adorning No. 2 in All-Star Race

Team Penske and Molson Coors will team up again in 2022 to promote brand Keystone Light in the NASCAR Cup Series, continuing one of the longest-standing partnerships in motorsports.

The legendary organization announced the extension of the partnership on Tuesday, allowing NASCAR Cup Series rookie Austin Cindric to continue the tradition of a Molson Coors sponsored No. 2 at NASCAR’s highest level.

Cindric’s No. 2 Ford Mustang will carry the Keystone Light colors in the NASCAR All-Star Race at Texas Motor Speedway on May 22.

“Our 35-year legacy partnership with Team Penske – a constant in motorsports for nearly four decades – has seen an all-star lineup of Molson Coors brands and Penske drivers teaming up to race for championships,” says Adam Dettman, Head of Partnerships at Molson Coors. “Now, Austin Cindric is jumping behind the wheel of the iconic No. 2 car for Keystone Light’s second year as the featured brand. We look forward to raising a cold Keystone Light in victory lane with Austin and his Penske teammates in 2022.”

The company first partnered with Penske in the 1980s, with Danny Sullivan winning multiple IndyCar events with Miller branding. However, in 1991, the partnership came to NASCAR, with Rusty Wallace carrying the colors of Miller in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series, a tradition that has been carried throughout the years.

“Becoming the driver of the iconic No. 2 in the Cup Series has helped me develop an even deeper appreciation for the rich history of the car and the team,” said Cindric, the 2020 NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) Champion. “Building on the partnership with Keystone Light and Molson Coors adds another chapter to that history. The No. 2 has evolved over the years. First it was Midnight, then the Blue Deuce – so I’m excited to add to the tradition and ‘Grab a Stone’ with Keystone Light and our team in 2022.”

Cindric graduates to the NASCAR Cup Series after a magnificent two seasons with Team Penske in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, which included a driver’s championship in 2020, as well as an owner’s championship in 2021. In 133 starts, Cindric has amassed 13 victories, as well as 62 top-five and 89 top-10 results.
