Grant Enfinger, who has six-career NASCAR Camping World Truck Series wins, will officially move to GMS Racing’s Truck Series program in 2022 as part of a two year deal. The organization announced the news on Friday at a press conference outside the NASCAR Cup Series garage at Talladega Superspeedway.

Enfinger will drive their No. 23 truck next season.

For Enfinger and GMS, it’s a reunion as the driver made seven starts for the team back in 2016.

“It’s an honor to be coming back to GMS Racing, the place where I was able to jump start my career in NASCAR. Together GMS Racing and I saw a tremendous amount of success – winning races and championships – and I’m ready to pick up where we left off,” said Enfinger in a team release.

Champion Power Equipment, a long-time Enfinger sponsorship partner, will join the 36-year old in his new venture.

“Champion Power Equipment started our motorsports journey with GMS Racing in 2014, joining forces with Grant’s program at GMS Racing in 2015, and we have never looked back,” said Dennis Trine of Champion Power Equipment. “Year-after-year we are seeing the value that a partnership with not only Grant, but in NASCAR, brings to our company. Our consumers are outdoor enthusiast and we are able to connect with them directly at NASCAR race tracks, allowing us to see measurable growth through the life of the partnership. We look forward to continuing that growth with Grant and the GMS Racing team over the next two seasons.”

Enfinger won four races en route the 2020 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series regular season championship, only to find himself reduced to a part-time driving role for 2021 with ThorSport Racing.

Enfinger’s demotion to part-time with ThorSport was not announced publicly until just a little over a week before the 2021 season began, which left him with very little time to work on other plans to run full-time. This season, Enfinger has shared the No. 98 seat with Christian Eckes.

Driving a combination of races with ThorSport and CR7 Motorsports, Enfinger has racked up six top-five finishes and 11 top-10s in 18 starts this season.

Overall, Enfinger has racked up 42 top-fives and 77 top-10 finishes in 124 starts over his career in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

The Alabama-native should be expected to be a big factor in the 2022 NCWTS championship picture.

While it’s still early in the 2022 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series silly season, there have already been a few drivers and teams that have confirmed their status for 2022. Here is the TobyChristie.com 2022 NASCAR Truck Driver / Team Chart:
