Kendra Adams, an up and coming racer, had a solid debut in the Pro Late Model Series last weekend at Sunset Speedway. And she did so with a brand new sponsorship partner — NASCAR Ignition.

The native of Innisfil, Ontario, Canada was thrilled with the partnership. But was also impressed with the reaction of the Canadian racing fan base by the sponsorship.

“We had NASCAR Ignition on the car specifically for the pro late model race. It was an amazing opportunity to represent them,” Adams stated with pride. “More than anything, it was cool to hear a lot of the fans talk about how excited they were for the game and how they had already pre-ordered the game. The fans seemed very excited that NASCAR Ignition was sponsoring a grass roots racer and team.”

Here is video from the stands of the entire Pro Late Model event from Sunset Speedway:

The 21-year old racer rolled from the eighth starting spot in the 13-car field. And she says with it being her debut race in the pro late model ranks, she didn’t know what to even expect going into the race.

“Just being my first pro late model race, I didn’t expect much,” Adams admitted. “Especially driving my limited late model. But I was surprised with the racing, and very happy about finishing sixth. It was a lot different than the limited late model race, because I was able to race against people I had never raced against.”

As the 75-lap race around the 1/3 mile speedway clicked on, Adams gained experience and built comfort in her No. 2 car. By the end of the race, she had moved into the sixth position, a very solid finishing spot for her debut race in the rough-neck pro late model series.

Adams Hopes to Return to Pro Late Models in 2022

This was the final race of the 2021 Pro Late Model Series season. But Adams hopes that sponsorship can be found to help bring her back to the division in 2022.

The talented racer ran the full Limited Late Model season in 2021. And she even raced the season finale in that series as well last weekend — in the same race car. Adams finished fourth in the Limited Late Model finale at Sunset Speedway. And she came home with a fifth-place rank in the season-long points championship in the Limited ranks.

Overall, it was a great weekend and an impressive debut showing for Kendra Adams, the racer who had garnered the attention of the upcoming NASCAR console video game — NASCAR Ignition.
