Fast Track Racing Hauler Catches Fire in Kentucky Traveling Home from ARCA Menards Series Event at Springfield

There aren’t many people more dedicated to the well-being and success of the ARCA Menards Series then Fast Track Racing Enterprises owner Andy Hillenburg, whose four-car organization has been a mainstay in the series since its debut in 1995, fielding multiple entries for a number of drivers that span a large range of age and experience level.

Fast Track Racing Enterprises has fielded four full-time entries in the ARCA Menards Series this season – No. 01, 10, 11 and 12 — while also making the occaisonal start in the ARCA Menards Series East and West, where they’ve been able to put forward some impressive results, including a third-place finish at Nashville Fairgrounds earlier this year, with Mason Mingus.

However, after one of the busiest weekends of the 2021 ARCA Menards Series season, a hauler carrying two of the organization’s four cars, as well as a lot of the team’s equipment, caught fire on I-24 in Kentucky. While the loss of a hauler is significant for any team, for a lower-budget team like Fast Track Racing, who operates on pennies to the dollar of the budget of the series’ juggernauts like Joe Gibbs Racing and Venturini Motorsports, the loss of equipment and a hauler is devastating.

In the early hours of Monday Morning, Hillenburg took to social media to document the team’s situation, while also confirming that nobody was injured in the fire, saying their truck driver was able to get the tractor unhooked and escape from the flames. Later in the morning, Amy Smith posted additional photos of the damage to her Facebook profile, stating that the two cars and the pit boxes that were in the hauler, were salvagable, while everything else in the hauler, including the gear bags of four of the team’s crew members, were a complete loss.

Hillenburg also mentioned that the organization would still be going to the series’ next event at The Milwaukee Mile, which is scheduled to take place on Sunday, August 29, in a combination race between the ARCA Menards Series and ARCA Menards Series East.
