Ty Dillon Piloting Our Motorsports No. 23 at Charlotte Motor Speedway

After contesting four of the series’ first eight events in Joe Gibbs Racing’s No. 54 Toyota Supra, Ty Dillon will return to the driver’s seat of an entry in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, albeit for a totally different organization.

The 29-year-old grandson of Richard Childress – team owner of Richard Childress Racing — will hop behind the wheel of the No. 23 Chevrolet Camaro for Our Motorsports in the Alsco Uniforms 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, according to NASCAR’s Team Roster Portal.

Matt Swiderski – crew chief of Kaulig Racing’s part-time NASCAR Cup Series entry — will call the shots for Dillon and Our Motorsports, while the remainder of the team’s road crew will consist of crew members from Kaulig Racing, Richard Childress Racing and Our Motorsports.

In 150 NASCAR Xfinity Series starts, Dillon has visited Charlotte Motor Speedway on nine occasions, scoring five top-10 finishes and a track-high fourth-place result in 2018. The Lewisville, North Carolina-native also has an additional eight starts at the 1.5-mile facility between the NASCAR Cup Series and the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series

Entering Charlotte, the Our Motorsports No. 23 sits 23rd in 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series Owner Points, after the entry has been shared among numerous drivers. Jason White, Natalie Decker, Tyler Reddick, Blaine Perkins, Tanner Berryhill and JJ Yeley have all taken turns in the entry this season, with a best finish of tenth-place at Daytona – with Jason White.
