Video: Jennifer Jo Cobb Parked By NASCAR Following Contact With Norm Benning

A caution-filled final stage in Saturday’s Toyota Care 250 got a strange twist between two drivers likely no one expected to rub fenders.

Jennifer Jo Cobb ended up spinning on the backstretch at Richmond just past Lap 167. Later replays revealed that Norm Benning appeared to get into the No. 10’s left rear quarter panel, causing the spin.

Just a few laps later on the restart, Cobb ended up getting into Benning in the same fashion, causing both drivers to spin and display another caution on Lap 178.

Following the contact, the driver, crew chief, and spotter of the No. 10 entry were called to the NASCAR hauler, and Cobb was subsequentially parked from the Toyota Care 250.

Cobb said over the radio that there was an issue with the car itself, causing the contact with Benning. The contact with Benning was her third caution of the day, with the two previous ones coming at Lap 101, and Lap 167.

Benning came to pit road for minor repairs and continued on. Cobb is being scored at the time of this publishing with a finish in the 38th position.

As for the rest of the field, Thorsport’s Grant Enfinger won Stage 1, while Kyle Busch Motorsports driver John Hunter Nemechek took the checkered in Stage 2.
