On Saturday Afternoon, Reaume Brothers Racing announced via social media that the organization’s Lead Fabricator, Matthew Wolper, suffered a major heart attack on Friday Afternoon during the opening practice session for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Bristol Motor Speedway.
The 55-year-old was immediately transferred from the infield care center to a local Bristol-area hospital, where he has since undergone a successful heart surgery. Wolper is currently resting and recovering at the hospital.
In their social media post, the team said: “Matt, we want to wish you a speedy recovery – you are in all of our hearts and prayers. We will be racing for you when we fire the engines. Stay strong and keep being the trooper that you are.”
Wolper was listed as the Fabricator for the Reaume Brothers Racing No. 34 Toyota Tundra this weekend at Bristol, which will be piloted by Jake Griffin in the series’ inaugural Pinty’s Truck Race on Dirt
