John Hunter Nemechek Scores Emotional Victory in Third Truck Series Race With Kyle Busch Motorsports

It took just three races for the potent combination of John Hunter Nemechek and Kyle Busch Motorsports to land in victory lane in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. Nemechek scored an emotional — and dominant win — over his boss Kyle Busch in the Bucked Up 200 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

“Yeah, I just can’t thank everyone at Toyota — Jack Irving, Kyle Busch, Uncle Eric, everyone — for this opportunity. It means a lot for me,” Nemechek said holding back tears. “Mobil 1 on board, coming back to the truck series, that was the plan, that was the goal. We came into this year with the hashtag, #Here4Wins and we’re here for wins. I definitely think experience paid off tonight.”

Nemechek led a race-high 94 laps in the 134 lap contest, and he was good enough at disturbing the air in front of Busch for the win in the closing laps.

For Busch, he only led 16 laps in the race, but he had a No. 51 truck capable of winning.

Busch started in the rear, came to the front. Then on lap 77, he went for a spin with a flat tire. He lost a lap. Then he rallied and came back to nearly win the race.

Austin Hill finished third, Stewart Friesen was fourth and Matt Crafton came home fifth.

Zane Smith, Grant Enfinger, Parker Kligerman, Christian Eckes and Ben Rhodes rounded out the top-10 finishers in the race.

Enfinger and Kligerman were two of the 10 trucks sporting Camping World sponsorship in this event.

Friday night’s race was mellow through the first Two Stages as the only caution for incident in the opening 60 laps was for Cory Roper’s single truck spin.

However, things got nutty in Sin City in the final Stage as there were six cautions for incidents, including four multi-truck crashes.
