Wood Brothers Racing will finally have complete control over the NACAR Cup Series charter that the team’s No. 21 has utilized for the last four seasons, with the official confirmation on Wednesday Afternoon that the team’s partnership with Go Green Racing has concluded.

The organization announced the official purchase of the remaining interests of GGRWB, LLC – the current holder of the charter — from Archie St. Hilaire and Go Green Racing, granting complete control and ownership of the charter to Wood Brothers Racing ahead of the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season.

The single-car operation initially leased the charter from Archie St. Hilaire and Go Green Racing in 2017, before entering an official partnership with the organization the following season – known as GGRWB, LLC or Go Green Racing Wood Brothers, LLC. The partnership between the two parties ensured that the Wood Brothers Racing No. 21 – at that time piloted by Paul Menard — would be allowed to continue using the charter.

In October 2020, GoFas Racing – a NASCAR Cup Series operation partially owned by Archie St. Hilaire — announced that they would be scaling back to part-time competition next season, selling the organization’s other charter to Live Fast Motorsports – a single-car operation owned by Matt Tifft and B.J. McLeod debuting in the DAYTONA 500 in February.

Wood Brothers Racing will continue to field the No. 21 Ford Mustang full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series next season, with Matt DiBenedetto piloting the team’s entry for one more season, before 2020 Xfinity Series Champion and Team Penske development driver Austin Cindric takes over with the scheduled debut of the NextGen Car in 2022.
