After an intense five-lap final stint of the 53rd Annual Snowball Derby at Five Flags Speedway, Ty Majeski has emerged as the winner of the prestigious event, hoisting the Tom Dawson Trophy for the first time in his career.

The Seymour, Wisconsin-native got by the dominant driver of the race, Derek Thorn,  prior to the event’s final competition caution, giving Majeski the inside lane on the subsequent restarts. The 26-year-old proceeded to hold off Thorn for the victory in the 2020 Snowball Derby.

Two-time NASCAR K&N Pro Series West Champion Derek Thorn set a record for the most laps led in the Snowball Derby, leading 252 of the event’s 302 laps, en-route to a runner-up finish.
