What a turn of events over a two lap stretch in Stage 1 of Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Drive for the Cure 250 at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval.
Over the course of the two laps, at least 10 drivers crashed or spun as rain began to pick up around the road course causing drivers to hydro-plane on their rain tires.
Drivers involved in the various incidents included: Noah Gragson, who was leading the race, Ross Chastain, Brandon Jones, Kyle Weatherman, Chase Briscoe, Tommy Joe Martins, Ryan Vargas, Austin Hill, CJ McLaughlin and Matt Mills.
Here is video of the chaos as it unfolded:
This sequence of events at @CLTMotorSpdwy is UNBELIEVABLE.
It started raining at the ROVAL, and so many drivers spun around. #NASCARPlayoffs
