Michael Annett disqualified from Talladega following post-race inspection

Following post-race inspection at Talladega Superspeedway, NASCAR has disqualified the No. 1 Camaro of Michael Annett from Saturday’s Ag-Pro 300.

NASCAR ruled that Annett’s car  was too low in the left front.

Annett, originally finishing in the second position, will be credited with a last place finish, earning one point in the standings. Ryan Sieg will be credited with a second place finish.

Per a revised NASCAR Xfinity Series point standings issued by the sanctioning body Saturday night, Annett now finds himself last in the playoff standings, 38 points behind the cutoff line.

Crew chief Travis Mack addressed the violation in Twitter late Saturday night.

Heading into the Roval at Charlotte next weekend, Annett is now in a must-win situation to keep his championship hopes alive for this season, as well as Riley Herbst.

Inspection for the rest of the field has been completed, and Justin Haley has been deemed the race winner.
