Friesen and Rohrbaugh Teams Hit With L1 Penalties For Illegal Holes in Truck Beds

This one is going to hurt.

Saturday morning, NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series teams Halmar-Friesen Motorsports (No. 52) and CR7 Motorsports (No. 9) were slapped with L1 penalties and their crew chiefs (Tripp Bruce and Doug George) have been ejected for the weekend at Talladega Superspeedway.

Both trucks were found to have holes in their truck beds, which is legal as long as they’re used for air intake purposes. NASCAR found that to not be the case with these holes.

As a result, both drivers and their teams have been docked 20 championship driver and owner points and their crew chiefs were sent home.

They will still take the green flag from their regularly scheduled starting positions.
