Corey LaJoie Confirms He Won’t Return to Go Fas Racing in 2021

What was widely speculated became official on Friday, as Corey LaJoie released a statement on Twitter confirming that he will not return to Go Fas Racing’s No. 32 machine for the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season.

Here is LaJoie’s full statement:

“I’m sure most of you have seen the silly season news regarding the mutual decision for me to part ways with Go Fas Racing after this season. My partners and I are in discussions with several other opportunities to continue improving competitively in the Cup Series. Go Fas has been a significant part of my growth. Together, over the last two years of competing, we’ve achieved career-best finishes for both myself and the team. I’ve enjoyed working with all the guys and made lifelong friendships. Archie runs a great team. I wish them all the best next season.”

LaJoie sits 29th in the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series championship standings after 23 races, and he has one top-10 finish this season. Overall, LaJoie has racked up three top-10 finishes over 59 starts with Go Fas Racing.

The 28-year old has progressively climbed from part-time NASCAR Xfinity Series competitor, to being a full-time NASCAR Cup Series driver over the last seven years.

Now, he’ll look to take that next step.

Go Fas Racing was of course the home of Matt DiBenedetto before he decided to bet on himself and leave the No. 32 team at the end of the 2018 season.

For DiBenedetto, he left for Leavine Family Racing, where he scored a runner-up finish at Bristol last fall as well as several other good finishes. DiBenedetto was able to parlay that success into a ride with Wood Brothers Racing for this season.
