Brett Moffitt Scores Stage 1 Win in Truck Series Race at Daytona Road Course

Brett Moffitt and the No. 23 GMS Racing team have become Stage Winning machines as of late. With a Stage 1 win in Sunday’s Sunoco 159 at the Daytona Road Course, the driver has won at least one Stage in four of the last five races in NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series competition.

Moffitt inherited the lead on lap one of the Stage, when pole sitter Zane Smith missed turn one on the opening lap. Moffitt wouldn’t look back the rest of the way.

Sheldon Creed, Moffitt’s GMS Racing teammate finished runner-up in Stage 1.

Christian Eckes, Austin Hill and Todd Gilliland rounded out the top-five finishers in the Stage.

Ben Rhodes, Tyler Ankrum, Tanner Gray, Austin Wayne Self and Derek Kraus finishes sixth thru 10th.

Kruas rebounded from missing a chicane and having to stop on track as a result, for the top-10 finish in Stage 1.
