Scott Lagasse, Jr., Danny Bohn Rounding Out NASCAR Truck Series Lineup for On Point Motorsports

On Point Motorsports will have a pair of new drivers behind the wheel of the No. 30 Toyota Tundra to finish out the 2020 season, as Danny Bohn and Scott Lagasse, Jr. will share the driving duties for the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series team in the remaining eleven races this season.

Lagasse, the 39-year old from St. Augustine, Florida, will run the No. 30 at Daytona International Speedway’s Road Course, when the NASCAR Truck Series heads to the historic road course for the first time on August 16th.

In 30 prior NASCAR Truck Series starts and 70 prior starts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, Lagasse has only participated in two road course events, both occurring in 2017, when he drove the No. 3 for Richard Childress Racing. Lagasse earned 22nd and 23rd-place finishes in those two outings.

Rounding out the remaining ten races in the NASCAR Truck Series schedule will be Danny Bohn, who will make his first start for the team when the series heads to Dover International Speedway on August 21st. The 32-year old has made three prior starts in the NASCAR Truck Series, all driving for On Point Motorsports last season, where he earned a career-best eighth-place finish at Martinsville Speedway.

Bohn’s primary sponsors North American Motor Car and Sierra Delta, will be the sponsors on Bohn’s No. 30 Toyota Tundra when he takes to the track at Dover and World Wide Technology Raceway later this month.

All of the remaining eleven events will feature no on-track activities prior to the drop of the green flag, meaning Bohn will have to adapt to his surroundings quickly, with no prior laps at either Dover or WWT Raceway.

The team’s primary driver this season, Brennan Poole, in no longer able to compete in the series, due to NASCAR’s restrictions for drivers from the NASCAR Cup Series running in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Truck Series.

Daytona marks the first race of the three race “Triple Truck Challenger” – otherwise known as “The Trip” — a three race incentive program that offers the winners of each event a cash prize, which substantially increases if the same driver is able to win multiple races over the three race stretch.
