Bubba Wallace and Corey LaJoie will have to forfeit their starting positions for Sunday’s Foxwoods Resort Casino 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, after both cars were found to have issues in pre-race technical inspection.

NASCAR determined that both the No. 32 and No. 43 had an improperly mounted ballast on their cars, resulting in both team’s inspection failures. Both teams will be deducted ten championship points, lose their crew chief’s for today’s event at New Hampshire and be forced to give up their starting positions.

LaJoie was scheduled to start from 33rd-positon with crew chief Ryan Sparks, but will be starting at the rear of the field in Sunday’s 301-lap event.  Roy Gangdal – engineer on the No. 32 for GoFas Racing — will be the interim crew chief in today’s race.

LaJoie’s points position will remain unchanged in 29th, despite the ten-point penalty.

Wallace was scheduled to start from the 15th-position with crew chief Jerry Baxter, but will be forced to start at the rear of the field for today Foxwoods Rest Casino 301. Richard Petty Motorsports tells TobyChristie.com that crew chief duties on the No. 43 will be a “group effort” for Sunday’s race.

Wallace will drop from 20th to 21st in point standings with the ten-point infraction, now 110 points outside the playoff bubble.
