After recording a solid 13th-place finish for SS Greenlight Racing last Saturday in his home state of Texas, David Starr is set to return to the NASCAR Xfinity Series for the second consecutive weekend, in search of his fourth career top-ten finish.

The 52-year old, Starr, will return to the seat of the No. 07 for SS Greenlight Racing, – the third time in 2020 that the No. 07 has had the same driver in back-to-back races — when the NASCAR Xfinity Series rolls into Kansas Speedway for the 17th race of the 2020 campaign.

In six prior NASCAR Xfinity Series starts at Kansas Speedway, Starr has earned two top-twenty finishes, with a best finish of 15th, driving for Tri-Star Motorsports’ No. 44 in 2014.

The NASCAR Xfinity Series veteran, Starr, was originally scheduled to run the full-season for JD Motorsports’ No. 6 in 2020, before funding issues prevented Starr from returning to the No. 6 when NASCAR returned to racing in May. Since then, Starr has made one start in the NASCAR Cup Series for Rick Ware Racing at Martinsville, as well as one start in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving for Bobby Dotter’s SS Greenlight Racing.

The No. 07 that Starr will be driving this weekend in Kansas, is a part of an ongoing agreement between Rick Ware Racing and SS Greenlight Racing, where Rick Ware Racing will prepare cars for the No. 07, while also filling the drivers seat of the car in the process. So far this season Garrett Smithley, JJ Yeley, Carson Ware, Gray Gaulding, David Starr and Jade Buford, have all gotten a turn behind the wheel of the No. 07 in 2020.
