Kyle Larson Holds off Brad Sweet, Sweeps Weekend World of Outlaw Races at Knoxville

In his last six dirt races, Kyle Larson has now racked up an impressive five wins and a runner-up finish. It’s been an impressive run, and it continued with another victory on Saturday night as Larson swept the weekend events at Knoxville Raceway.

Larson started from the fourth-position in the 30-lap feature, but it wasn’t until lap 22, when the dominant driver in the event — Daryn Pittman — made contact with David Gravel while trying to lap him. The contact sent Pittman around, and Larson assumed the lead.

The 27-year old would not look back and he would cruise to the win by nearly three-seconds over Brad Sweet.

Here are the full results from Saturday night’s feature event:

  1. 57 – Kyle Larson
  2. 49 – Brad Sweet

Following the race, Larson did the all-to-familiar victory lane celebration, where his son Owen took to waving the checkered flag from atop the wing of Larson’s No. 57 machine.

The California-native, who was a fixture on the NASCAR circuit until an unfortunate slip of the tongue during an iRacing event in April, has been on an incredible roll — even by his own standards — on the dirt.
