David Starr Driving for Rick Ware Racing at Martinsville

David Starr, a veteran in the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series, will make his return to NASCAR’s top level at Martinsville Speedway driving the No. 53 Chevrolet Camaro for Rick Ware Racing.

Helluva Ranch and Richardson Service 1991 Inc. will be featured on Starr’s No. 53 at Martinsville, when Starr makes his tenth NASCAR Cup Series start.

The Houston, Texas-native started the season driving for JD Motorsports’ No. 6 Chevrolet in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, before COVID-19 related funding issues forced Starr and JD Motorsports to part ways before the series returned to action at Darlington.

Starr has nine prior starts in the NASCAR Cup Series, most recent of which was 2018, driving the No. 97 for Obaika Racing (finished 39th). In those nine starts Starr has a best finish of 27th, coming at Bristol in 2011 when he drove for Leavine Family Racing.
