Chase Elliott has swept the opening two Stages of Sunday’s Food City Presents Supermarket Heroes 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Elliott survived contact, while battling for the lead with Joey Logano, and a rash of cautions late in the Stage to pickup his second Stage Win of the day.

Denny Hamlin ended Stage 2 in second, while Kevin Harvick, Logano and Kyle Busch finished third through fifth.

Clint Bowyer, William Byron, Erik Jones, Brad Keselowski and Chris Buescher rounded out the top-10 and also scored Stage Points for their efforts.

Ryan Blaney, who nearly won Stage 1 and was running second early in Stage 2, spun his car on lap 197. As he sat in the racing groove, Ty Dillon severely ripped the front of Blaney’s car off as they made contact. This ended both driver’s days.

The moment of the Stage came when Jimmie Johnson made contact with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. on lap 227. The contact sent Stenhouse spinning into the inside wall. His No. 47 car ricocheted back onto the track and collected several others including Alex Bowman, Tyler Reddick, Cole Custer and more.

The race was red flagged for a little over 11 and a half minutes while safety workers replaced foam in the SAFER barrier following the crash.
