Report: Richard Petty Motorsports to Upgrade Equipment in 2020

According to a report from NBC Sports’ Dustin Long, Richard Petty Motorsports will be making a sponsorship announcement in January, which will lead the team to adding half a dozen new race cars to their stable.

Long says that Brian Moffitt, the chief executive officer for RPM confirmed this.

Before you start thinking RPM is a potential landing spot for Daniel Suarez, the team has stated emphatically all offseason that Bubba Wallace will return to the No. 43 in 2020, and Long’s report also states Wallace will be the beneficiary of the new equipment.

The report also states that the team is looking at adding engineers to their team for 2020 as well.

According to Moffitt, even with the new sponsorship that will be announced, the team still has races available for interested sponsors.

  1. Well the day is the 29th of January and I’ve been waiting all month to hear something from Richard Petty Motorsports any idea why no announcement made?

  2. Noticed during photo shoot Bubba had put a blue patch over someone’s logo. Not sure if this is because sponsor backed out or what?

  3. Yeah, still waiting to hear. It looked like they maybe had a couple of sponsors ready at production day, but had them covered (contracts are possibly not finalized). We will see.
