Andy Houston Signs on to be Spotter For Cole Custer in 2020

Cole Custer may be a rookie in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2020, but he will have a veteran voice in his ear throughout the season. Andy Houston — who has spotted for Austin Dillon over the last nine seasons — has signed a deal to be the spotter for the No. 41 car for Stewart-Haas Racing this year.

Houston confirmed the news to TobyChristie.com in a Facebook message.

“I did accept their offer! I will be spotting for Cole Custer in 2020,” said Houston in the message.

Houston guided Dillon to a NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series championship in 2011, a NASCAR Xfinity Series championship in 2013 and he also was in the spotter’s stand when Austin Dillon reached victory lane in the Coca-Cola 600 in 2017 and the Daytona 500 in 2018.

Custer is coming off an explosive NASCAR Xfinity Series campaign, which saw him reach victory lane seven times and finish runner-up in the Championship 4 race at Homestead to Tyler Reddick.
