Josh Williams 15th at Phoenix, Scores Second Top-15 Finish in a Row

A guy who doesn’t get much press, despite putting up solid results week in and week out is NASCAR Xfinity Series driver Josh Williams.

Williams scored his second-consecutive top-15 Saturday at ISM Raceway in Phoenix as he came home in 15th.

Williams started the day from the 23rd position in his DGM Racing No. 36 Sleep Well Chevrolet Camaro.

The 26-year old driver kept his head on a swivel throughout the race and he even showcased the incredible respect he has been gaining on the track lately as Christopher Bell spared him from going down a lap as a caution came out early in the event.

At the end of the day, Williams finished a spot ahead of Bell, after Bell found trouble after a pit road speeding penalty.

The 15th-place effort marks Williams’ third top-15 in his last four starts and it is his seventh top-15 of the 2019 season.

This extends Williams’ own DGM Racing record for most top-15s in a season. Alex Labbe had four top-15 finishes for the team a season ago.

Williams, a Florida native, will now look to finish the season strong at Homestead next weekend. Williams has one previous start at the 1.5-mile Speedway, which resulted in a 28th-place finish in 2017.
