Stewart Friesen Holds Off Hard Charging Brandon Jones For Phoenix Win, Advances to Championship 4

Well, it wasn’t easy, but Stewart Friesen was able to pull out all of the stops to hold off Brandon Jones for the victory on Friday night’s NASCAR Gander Outdoors struck Series race at Phoenix.

With his second win of 2019, Friesen locked in his spot in next week’s Championship 4 race at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

The four drivers who will battle for a championship are: Friesen, Brett Moffitt, Ross Chastain and Matt Crafton.

Crafton muscled his way into the Championship 4 after racking up Stage points all race and Austin Hill struggling from the pole to finish 14th.

Behind Friesen and Jones was Chandler Smith, who had an excellent race in Kyle Busch’s No. 46 truck.

ThorSport Racing teammates Ben Rhodes and Grant Enfinger finished fourth and fifth.

Crafton, Harrison Burton, Johnny Sauter, Chastain and Moffitt rounded out the top-10 finishers on the night.
