Corey LaJoie’s Day Ends Early After Recent Stretch of Good Finishes

FORT WORTH, Texas — Corey LaJoie came into Texas on a high. He had recorded two top-20 finishes over his last three starts. However, after two crashes in the opening Stage of Sunday’s AAA Texas 500 at Texas Motor Speedway, LaJoie’s day ended after just 67 laps.

Before the chaos of Sunday’s race, things had been super positive for LaJoie.

He finished 18th and on the lead lap in a tough race at Martinsville Speedway a week ago, and then on Friday his team — Go Fas Racing — announced a new technical alliance with Stewart-Haas Racing for the 2020 season.

For LaJoie, who has been very good at keeping his equipment in one piece, Sunday’s DNF will mark his fourth DNF of the 2019 season. Three have come by way of crashes and one by way of mechanical failure.

LaJoie will attempt to get the momentum rolling again next week at ISM Raceway in Phoenix.
