Chase Elliott Caps Off Dominating Day With Win at Watkins Glen

When you look at the box score for Sunday’s GoBowling at the Glen, it will look like it was a walk in the park for Chase Elliott. He started from the pole and led 81 of the 90 laps contested in the event. However, for the final 30 laps or so Elliott had Martin Truex Jr. breathing down his neck.

Elliott was able to drive a flawless race down the stretch and beat Martin Truex Jr. for the victory.

This is Elliott’s second win of 2019, and his second-consecutive win at Watkins Glen International.

Denny Hamlin finished third, and Erik Jones continues his hot streak with a fourth-place finish.

Ryan Blaney came from the back of the pack after unapproved adjustments sent him to the rear of the field to finish fifth.

Matt DiBenedetto scored his fourth top-10 of 2019 by finishing sixth and he was followed by Kevin Harvick, Kyle Larson, Brad Keselowski and Kurt Busch.

Kyle Busch, who is usually one of the favorites to win at Watkins Glen, suffered through numerous run-ins throughout the day with William Byron and Bubba Wallace. Still, Busch was able to solider on to finish 11th.
