Austin Theriault Set For Cup Series Debut With Rick Ware Racing

June 29, 2019 (Thomasville, NC) – Austin Theriault joins the Rick Ware Racing stable of drivers to make his Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series debut at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Theriault will pilot the No. 52 entry, with Bangor Savings Bank as the primary sponsor, along with fellow New England companies Cross Insurance, Daigle Oil Company and EJ Prescott as associates for the Foxwoods Resort Casino 301 on July 21st.

“We are proud to be giving deserving drivers their chance, and RWR has been fortunate to give some outstanding drivers their chance in the Cup Series over the years,” commented team owner Rick Ware. “We are just as excited to see Austin Theriault showcase his talents on this big stage. We have been following Austin’s career and are thrilled to have him in the Bangor Savings Bank No. 52 at New Hampshire. We are equally excited to have Bangor Savings Bank join the RWR family as a marketing partner. We have been very fortunate to have added some very admirable companies to our family this year and are looking forward to having Bangor Savings Bank join us at NHMS.”

Theriault, a Fort Kent, Maine native, is no rookie to New Hampshire Motor Speedway, having competed in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, NASCAR Gander Outdoor Truck Series and NASCAR K&N Series. Over the past five years, Theriault has collected countless wins, the NASCAR K&N Most Popular Driver Award and the 2017 ARCA Menards Series Championship.

“I’ve been working extremely hard to get the opportunity to race in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series,” commented Austin Theriault. “I remember sitting in the NHMS grandstands and watching my favorite driver, Mark Martin, win the last race of his Cup career in 2009. It never crossed my mind, that I would have the opportunity to make my Cup debut at a track that means so much to my family and I. The support we’ve received from New England is humbling, and I’m excited to say I’ll be debuting with the support of New England based companies.”

Bangor Savings Bank, the primary sponsor on the No. 52, has been meeting the financial needs of New Englanders for over 167 years. Bangor Savings Bank remains true to the mission of its founders and the You Matter More promise to help our employees, customers, and communities prosper.  For additional information on Bangor Savings Bank, visit https://www.bangor.com

“We’re excited to have Austin once again waving the colors of Bangor Saving Bank” says Bangor Savings Bank President and CEO Bob Montgomery-Rice. “Austin has been an incredible partner over the years and we are thrilled to be a part of his team for his NASCAR debut and the debut of the Bangor Savings Bank No. 52.”
