Report: Kurt Busch Working on Coming Back to CGR in 2020

After an offseason move from Stewart-Haas Racing to Chip Ganassi Racing, many speculated that 2019 would be a farewell tour of sorts for 2004 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series champion Kurt Busch. However, the 40-year old driver has carried the banner for the CGR organization as Kyle Larson has struggled mightily.

A report from Sports Business Journal’s Adam Stern, explains that Busch may not only not be done driving after 2019, but he is actually looking to extend his one year deal at Ganassi if his terms can be met.

Busch, a Las Vegas native, has recorded 30-career Cup Series wins since his rookie season of 2001. He has also been a perennial Playoff contender year in and year out. After 14 races in 2019, Busch sits eighth in the championship standings and has eight top-10 finishes.
