Former Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series driver Kasey Kahne has been busy sprint car racing since he stepped away from his NASCAR career.

According to a Kasey Kahne Racing press release, the 39 year old suffered injuries in a crash at Williams Grove earlier this season and is recovering from them.

As a result, Australian driver James McFadden will be behind the wheel of Kahne’s sprint car until Kahne is healed enough to return.

Kahne will stay hands on with the team while he is on the mend and will actually travel with the organization to their races. The press release states that a return date for Kahne racing the car himself will be announced later.
