After the past two days of nothing but rain, the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway is finally about to begin. The pace laps are being ran, all that is left is the green flag to drop. Tony Stewart, who is making his 400th career Sprint Cup start, is also on the pole.
Stewart will have stiff competition all day, and the lack of practice sessions throughout the week should make this an interesting one to watch. History says the Roush-Fenway cars will be good today, but also watch out for Juan Pablo Montoya.
Montoya focused in the only practice session of the week on his race setup. Montoya has been competitive at these type of race tracks in the past.
There will be a competition caution on lap 25 for the teams to check tire wear. Joey Logano fans, your driver will be heading to the rear of the field for changing an engine in his No. 20 Home Depot Toyota. Enjoy the race everyone.
