McMurray Paces Martinsville Happy Hour

Happy hour is in the books, and all that is left now for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is the race on Sunday.

Jamie McMurray was quickest in the final practice session turning a lap of 95.869 mph. Richard Childress Racing teammates Jeff Burton and Clint Bowyer were second and third in the session.

Seven-time Martinsville winner, Jeff Gordon, looked really good putting down the fourth best lap at 95.762 mph. Denny Hamlin, who announced earlier in the day that he will be undergoing surgery on his torn ACL on Monday, was the fifth fastest car during happy hour.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. was seventh quickest overall, but he was one of the fastest cars on the short run. Earnhardt’s teammate Jimmie Johnson was ninth quickest, but he was one of the best cars on the long run… so expect Hendrick cars to have a chance at victory no matter which way the race goes Sunday.

Sam Hornish Jr. was the big surprise turning the 10th fastest lap of the session.
