Rain Washes Out Qualifying at Martinsville

A persistent rain has washed out qualifying at Martinsville Speedway. Since we are five races into the season this is the first race that will revert to this season’s owner points for the starting lineup.

As a result Kevin Harvick will start on pole next to Matt Kenseth.

Jimmie Johnson, who has won three of the first five events this season will start third. Greg Biffle will start fourth and Tony Stewart will come to the green flag in fifth.

Ryan Newman who was fastest in the first practice session is the big loser in all of this, as he will have to roll off of the grid in 26th place.

The three cars that will be going home this week are: Terry Cook, Casey Mears, and Johnny Sauter.
